This full-day event creates opportunities for participants to learn and reflect on ideas and perspectives that will support the creation of anti-racist and anti-colonial environments. Following a keynote by Sheila Watt-Cloutier, participants will choose from several parallel sessions. In the afternoon, school leaders will hear from three districts about how they have brought meaningful student voice to their equity, diversity and inclusion journey. The day concludes with repeated breakout sessions and an EdCamp format in the larger room.
Through a variety of parallel sessions, participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into the successful operationalization of efforts to foster, create and sustain anti-oppressive and anti-colonial learning environments. These sessions seek to support efforts to dismantle, disrupt and rebuild an education system that is responsive to the needs of all students as we lead forward together.
