Identifying a large market opportunity to address people's mental health through a digital platform, Dr. Miki founded Starling Minds in 2013. As Chief Science Officer, Andrew conceptualizes solutions to address mental health requirements, researches and develops CBT-based approaches to address each market need, and creates validation frameworks to measure and report each digital program's potential efficacy.

With a background in Clinical Psychology, Neuroscience, and Animal Cognition, Dr. Miki has expertise in neuropsychological assessments and the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and traumatic brain injuries. He continues to practice as a registered psychologist and provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for individuals with depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma to feel stronger, more confident and resilient. 

Andrew founded Starling Minds with the mission to improve access to effective mental healthcare and is driven to help all Starling Minds members reduce stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, improve productivity, and reduce disability costs.

Andrew holds a BSc in Psychology from Queen’s University, an MA in Behavioral Neuroscience from Wilfrid Laurier and an MA and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from York University.
