We are seeking OPC Members who are highly qualified practising elementary and secondary principals to primarily facilitate our online and blended PQP Program and other related professional learning offerings from the following boards:

  • Halton DSB

  • Hamilton WentworthDSB

  • DSB Niagara

  • Rainbow DSB

Selection Criteria

A successful applicant will possess the following:

  • memember of the Ontario College of Teachers

  • understands both the English Public and English Catholic Sectors 
  • practising principal with recent, relevant and varied school experiences
  • exemplary school leader, as acknowledged by peers and supervisors
  • identified expertise in all areas of school leadership and facilitation
  • demonstrates a province-wide perspective
  • comfort using a Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate learning 
  • high level of comfort using a variety of digital tools to enhance learning
  • proficient in using various office programs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and G-suite
  • demonstrates strong communication abilities in facilitating, speaking and writing
  • is dynamic, resourceful, well-read and informed
  • understands and demonstrates adult learning principles when engaging adult learners
  • demonstrates a “lead learner” stance as an educator
  • in-depth knowledge and involvement in specific leadership initiatives related to equity, diversity and inclusion
  • identified expertise in areas of school leadership, mentoring/coaching and facilitation
  • successfully completed the PQP 
  • familiarity with the Ontario Leadership Framework

The following will be considered an asset:

  • Secondary experience is an asset

Selection Process 

Our selection team will review and assess all applications based on the identified success criteria. Selected candidates will be invited to take part in an online interview via Zoom meeting (with video) and will need to be available on Monday, December 12. This process also includes contacting references and ensuring balanced regional representation.

  • contact information for two references (one for a supervisory officer and one for a practising principal).

The successful independent contractor will need to be available by February 20, 2023.
