If you are not eligible to become a Member of the OPC, you can become an Associate and receive many of the same resources and discounts.

To enrol, fill out an Associate application form and email, fax or mail it to Membership Services.

Associate status is available to  

  • Principals/vice-principals who are former Members of the OPC
  • Aspiring principals/vice-principals who are members of the Ontario Teacher's Federation (OTF)
  • Individuals with an interest in education
  • District school board senior staff (e.g. Supervisory Officers and Directors)
  • Former OPC Members on leave, secondment or reassignment
  • Approved For-Profit Corporations with an interest in education
  • Approved Not-for-Profit Corporations with an interest in education

Associate Classes

Associates receive resources and services based on their class.

Class 1 - Retired or resigned principals/vice-principals who are former Members of OPC 

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • May maintain optional term life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators

Associate status is not required for retired Members to maintain entitlement to historical protective services coverage.

Class 2 - Aspiring principals/vice-principals who are members of the Ontario Teachers' Federation (OTF) 

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators

Class 3 - Individuals with an interest in education 

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators

Class 4 - Ontario district school board senior staff

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • May apply for or maintain LTD coverage and/or optional term life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage
  • Preserve their entitlement to historical protective services coverage, as applicable
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators

Class 5 - Former OPC Members on leave or secondment who do not meet the definition of Member

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • May apply for or maintain LTD coverage and/or optional term life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage
  • Preserve their entitlement to historical protective services coverage if they revert to full Membership
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators

Class 6 - Approved For-Profit Corporations with an interest in education 

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • May display their corporate name and/or logo on the OPC website with a link to the corporation's own website
  • Are included in a list of corporate sponsors in The Register
  • Receive advertising discounts for The Register when available
  • May have up to three people participate in professional development programs at the Member rate

Class 7 - Approved Not-for-Profit Corporations or organizations with an interest in education

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • May display their corporate name and/or logo on the OPC website with a link to the corporation's own website
  • Are included in a list of corporate sponsors in The Register
  • Receive advertising discounts for The Register when available
  • May have up to three people participate in professional development programs at the Member rate

Class 8 - Honorary Life Members

  • Have access to the Constitution
  • Participate in professional development programs at the Member rate
  • Have access to the Starling Minds Mental Fitness program designed for school administrators
