We recognize the value of evidence-based, job-embedded learning, sharing promising practices and a distributed leadership model. Our professional learning team is committed to developing and delivering leading edge, responsive learning for individuals who seek actionable and practical strategies to advance school and system leadership world-wide. It is a priority for us to develop, provide and support a variety of relevant, accessible and locally customized professional learning opportunities, based on diverse Member needs, feedback and job demands.

We continuously seek input from a multitude of sources to inform our processes from needs identification, to design, to development and delivery of diverse resources that support the needs of our Members and colleagues. This support to educational leaders can take many formats and can be customized to various learning needs, both at the board level and individually.

Your board may make professional development funds available to vice-principals and principals; however, the rules regarding how those funds may be used must be followed.

As a not-for-profit organization, neither our provincial nor local districts can rebate/give money directly to a Member. Otherwise you would not be able to report your membership fees as tax deductible.

Goals and Principles

Professional Learning Goals and Principles drive all planning, development and delivery.

Significant Events and Faith Observations

Our team endeavours to avoid scheduling learning sessions at times that conflict with significant events or faith observations. Unfortunately, there are times when the constraints of the presenters or conflicts with other offerings limit our flexibility. We hope that by offering repeat sessions at different times or by recording sessions, when possible, we can meet the diverse needs of our Members and participants.

Please let us know at learning@principals.ca if you require an accommodation or would like to discuss alternative options.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act

We are committed to accommodating the individual needs of our Members and learning session participants, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Our professional learning offerings provide access to a variety of AODA compliant mechanisms, including technologies, to share, collaborate and connect across Ontario and beyond. If you require accommodation, please contact learning@principals.ca or call 416-322-6600 and ask to speak with a member of our professional learning team.
