The Ontario Principals’ Council (OPC) is seeking a highly qualified, recently retired supervisory officer as the Program Lead for the Supervisory Officer’s Qualification Program (SOQP).

Responsibilities
-
overseeing the SOQP in alignment with OPC’s Professional Learning Guiding Principles
-
ensuring the integrity of the program as it is accredited by the Ontario College of
-
Teachers (OCT)
-
participating in the process to retain mentors
-
onboarding mentors, monitoring engagement and program feedback to ensure continuous improvement in program content and delivery
-
leading the development and creation of new program content to ensure content reflects current realities of system-level leadership through an anti-oppressive lens
-
supporting module updates, set up and content management through the Canvas Learning Management System
-
collaborating with the Professional Learning team to schedule program dates
-
communicating with Director of Professional Learning and Engagement as needed to address program needs and acting on any concerns or issues and
-
participating in regular meetings with program leads and an annual Additional Qualification (AQ) Advisory Committee meeting.
Selection Criteria
-
being a Member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) in good standing
-
having an in-depth understanding of public education and system-level leadership
-
having exemplary experience as a practising supervisory officer with recent, relevant and varied system-level experiences
-
being an advocate for positive systemic change based on foundational principles that support human rights and anti-oppression
-
having expertise in the development and review of professional learning or resources through a culturally responsive and relevant lens
-
demonstrated commitment to ongoing development with a “lead-learner” stance
-
having a dynamic approach to learning based on reflective practice, understanding of current trends and research in education and a province-wide perspective
-
understanding of adult learning principles and inclusive and responsive facilitation and
- having effective communication skills
Selection Process
Our selection team will review and assess all applications based on the identified success criteria. Candidates invited to take part in an online interview via Zoom meeting will need to be available on March 10. This process also includes contacting references.
