In response to some of the challenges facing FSL leaders, CPCO and OPC have designed three 5-hour online modules to support Members and Associates. The fees for these learning opportunities are subsidized through a government funded FSL Project managed by the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) and space is limited.

Core French Module

Module Date: November 9 - December 7

Participants will explore leadership strategies and ways to mitigate issues identified in research regarding the development of the Core French program in schools.

Facilitated by principals with experience in Core French settings from both public and Catholic schools, this module focuses on collaborative knowledge building and mobilization to:

  • identify leadership strategies to improve Core French teacher retention

  • determine effective practices of Core French programs

  • discover resources that help to plan professional development opportunities for Core French teachers,  and

  • discuss unique leadership challenges and opportunities that affect FSL instruction in schools.

Participants will need to complete the 5 hours of work over a two-week period, two synchronous sessions.  Options regarding the timing of the synchronous session will be discussed with the participants.
