OPC Financial Information
As our current fiscal year concludes on June 30 and we prepare for year-end processes and the audit, we would like to remind you that financial information is available to Members in the Finances section of our website. You will find the past three years’ audited financial statements, fiscal process and timeline, revenue sources and the resources and reserves policy outline. The 2026-27 approved budget will be uploaded to the website the week after our General Assembly meeting.

National Survey on Student Substance Use
A national survey led by researchers at the University of British Columbia, in partnership with the Canadian Association of School Administrators, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction and Physical and Health Education Canada, is now open to school leaders. This survey builds on a 2024 study highlighting the growing demands on school leaders and the need for coordinated, evidence-informed supports. Results will inform a new pan-Canadian standard and practical tools for schools.
We encourage Members to participate in the 15–20 minute anonymous survey before it closes on June 1.
Did You Know?
The three provincial principal associations continue to advance the Did You Know? campaign as a monthly advocacy initiative grounded in data. The most recent post highlights the growing complexity and volume of responsibilities faced by school leaders.
Eighty-eight per cent of principals and vice-principals report feeling overwhelmed by the scope of their role. This reflects increasing demands that impact their ability to focus on instructional leadership and support student success.
