Overview

This event is intended for practising principals and vice-principals interested in learning more about the role and responsibilities of a supervisory officer (SO). Come join us in conversation with experienced and newly graduated SOs who will share their experiences within the role. You will learn about SO responsibilities, various portfolios and OPC’s Supervisory Officer’s Qualification Program (SOQP).

Jeff developed his passion and commitment to school-based and system leadership through an exciting career with the Halton District School Board serving in the roles of teacher, principal, superintendent and associate director. His portfolios included Family of Schools, Curriculum and Program, Student Achievement, Research and Human Resources.

He has devoted his professional lifetime in supporting individuals to become more effective managers and leaders in an educational environment. Jeff is privileged to work with a talented team of school board leaders and OPC staff to develop and deliver the OPC SOQP to build the system leadership perspective of principals and vice-principals across the province.

Susie has served in education for over 23 years in the roles of teacher, principal and superintendent with responsibilities for equity, special education and leadership development. She is a dedicated educator and life-long learner, committed to culturally responsive leadership and authentic collaboration with community partners. In her current role as Director of Professional Learning for the Ontario Principal’s Council, Susie is honoured to support principals and vice-principals in exemplary school leadership at the local, national and international levels.
